The highs and lows of Hostel living.

Yesterday was mostly spend Canadianizing my CV at the SWAP office, I had a look around some the the malls looking at phone contracts as well, but still going to go with the one that the swap office has, also using craigslist to look for new places to live, but think I'm going to keep hosteling until I definitely have some work. After that I went for a swim at the outdoor pool thats in Stanley park, its and Olympic sized beast. You could drive a car down one of the swimming lanes its so big. It wasn't very busy either, as the locals had decided that as it was overcast and a measly 20 centigrade, that they weren't going bother, the water was warmer than our local indoor pool. In the evening me and JP sat around looking at houses on craigslist, but were later joined by Rosie and the infamous Chloe ( a person I had spoken to on facebook, but not yet seen) and we just all sat around talking. I slept badly last night as the stress started to build about how much is still left to do. Had a chat with a nice German lady who had just rented an apartment with her Canadian boyfriend who she had met when she had done the same thing as me, she gave me some tips for housing as well. This morning JP pointed out we had been hear 4 days, and things were going pretty well considering, and to chill out. We went on the skytrain (the Canadian equivalent of the underground... but more kinda in the sky), it was pretty cool, the view was a bit like pictures I've seen of Kobe or Tokyo, urban sprawl in the foreground and massive mountains in the background. It feels a bit sad sitting hear on a Saturday night revising for a 'serveitright' exam ( a test you have to do if you want to do bar work) knowing that at this very time all my mates back home will be rolling in from binge drinking. Its extra sad as Rosie and Chloe have gone out to some beach party and not invited us other 3, when you only have 4 friends, every last one counts.... Still look to the Future! I'll probably go to the SWAP social on Wednesday when all you guys are tucked up in bed preparing for another day of grind.
