1 astronomical unit is the distance between the earth and the sun, a distance of roughly 93 million miles.... oh... sorry, guess your here for a blog entry. So Last Monday:- Read some book. Tuesday me and JP went round Rosie's flash new pad to watch a DVD as there was nothing decent on at the cinema. We watched Lock Stock and two smoking barrels, I've not seen it in years so I had actually forgotten the plot, so everything in it was a nice surprise, we had a couple of beers and left the rest round Rosie's. Wednesday. Read some book. Thursday was JP's Friday. So we went out for a couple of drinks and some food after eyeing up some ski gear after I had finished work. After eating a disappointing meal at the Furniture warehouse, we grabbed some pecan pie up the road at the Spanish themed bar called Tafs, which has cheap majitos, when Rosie found out we had done this she thought we didn't invite her because we talk about her (its actually because she has no money), we assured her that yes we did, and she could see the minutes from this weeks meeting next time we saw her. Friday me JP and Rosie decided to do a minor bar crawl on East Hastings, I showed them the bar thats a bit like a cricket club bar, and the bar thats full of natives. After our third drink we saw a pretty horrific fight across the road while we were outside having a smoke, and decided to get out the ghetto and go back to nice, safe, Granville... and went back to Tafs. For some reason we were starving and decided to have some pizza and nachos, even though it was pretty expensive. Also at this point we were all pretty pissed. Which made no sense as we hadn't had that much to drink, around 5 pints over about 5 hours. As it approached midnight we all wanted the night to continue, but we were pretty poor, so decided to go to back to Rosies and continue our drinking, as there was still some beer there from Tuesday night. ... the 'some' beer turned out to be one each. We watched music video's on youtube, drank our last beer slowly and smoked faaaar to much. This weeks quota went in one night. I crashed round Rosie's (on the sofa, not in a sexpest way) got to sleep around 5am. Woke up at 9 feeling pretty special. Saturday I got my weekly tasks done. Weekly shop. Bought some new work shoes. Cleaned room. In the evening me and JP met up for some food at A&W, a slightly classy Canadian fast food chain. Then I headed home and watched the wrest of Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, which I started to watch at Rosie's that morning. Sunday has also been fairly quiet. Spent most of the day in the kitchen. Me and Kai watched Black City, which was a bit like the matrix without all the action and special effects, and a slighly deeper plot. Wouldn't bother to watch it again. Now me Kai and Joe are sat on the sofa in a gentle mans club-esque manor, reading, listening to music and I'm doodling as well.
This week has been Very quiet to be honest. Hopefully things will pick up a bit next week. Me and JP are going to go snowboarding next weekend with any luck, and its JP's Birthday tomo. The SWAP snowboarding event is fully booked, and we didn't manage to get places. But we can still join them if we can get our own transport there. So hopefully we can sort that. Especially as I've bought a coat and everything. Also I was meant to be up in Whistler the weekend after that, but Chloe is now employed, so she is now coming down the weekend after, so that's 3 weeks away. Which also sucks. But the most suckiest thing of all is Joe leaves on Wednesday to go back to the UK, Kai is going back to Japan on Tuesday (he decided to head back on Sunday, so that really was a massive surprise) and.... Rosie is heading to Banff at the beginning of January. This is the problem with being friends with back packers and travellers, we all have a tendency to go our own ways at a moments notice. This is going to leave me with few good.... well, just few.... friends. Think I'm going to have to go on a recruitment drive or something. Plus I got a bollocking at work for not being professional or food safe enough. But I've already started working on that, and just going to keep on plodding through I guess. Another part of the highs and lows of being a traveller.
Leeeeets Dooooo the-Quote Time Yea!
'Plate the food as if your were serving it to your mother. Assuming you like your mother.'
Adam, my boss, on any given lunch pep talk.
"I think we've crossed the line. Were is the line? We have lost the line!!"
Me and JP after a conversation that went to far on Saturday.
"I Love the White Man!"
An accidental racial slur by me, I was referring to the white man on street crossing signals, like the green man in the UK.
